Bird Life

One of the most interesting things about Gooromon Park is its beautiful setting. The farm is home to a wide array of birds featuring Australian parrots, rosellas, galahs, lorikeets, white cockatoos and the endangered black cockatoos, yellow/green budgerigars along with beautiful tiny blue wrens, wild ducks, ibis, magpies, and kookaburras. Many of these birds can be seen most days. Depending on the time of year you may also see our visiting black swans.

Kangaroos

Kangaroos live within the area and can be seen in the top paddocks at dusk. The Southern Greys are most common to the area and live in large mobs. Most days mobs of around 10 will graze on the farm usually with one or two BIG male kangaroos. The male kangaroo can stand over 2 metres tall and are very muscular, they are there to protect the mob of young females with joeys. DO NOT APPROACH, THESE ARE WILD KANGAROOS. If you wish to take photos, please do so from a safe distance.

Our Farm Animals

We are a working horse farm with a large riding centre, some of our horse that you see in the paddocks are highly trained and extremely valuable competition horses. These horse are not as friendly as they could be so please DO NOT approach the horses. The riding school horses are very nice but should not be approached in the paddock as they are in a herd environment which can be dangerous. If you would like to view the riding school horses please contact reception and a Gooromon Park staff member if available will assist you.

Our Gardens

Gooromon Park has 5 acres of gardens surrounding the Cafe, Function Centre, Accommodation and Riding Centre. Wander the gardens at your leisure but please leave the blooms for everyone else to admire.
